You are a foreign student and you are looking for French classes in Strasbourg?

Discover the offers of our association, the Alliance Française Strasbourg Europe, ideally located in the heart of the city.

Our school offers different courses: French courses in groups or private lessons, general French or French on objectives; super intensive, intensive or extensive formulas. It’s up to you to choose what suits you best!

The general “French as a foreign language” courses (FLE) are suitable for students of all levels (from beginners to advanced). After a placement test, the students integrate a group corresponding to their level in French. Each course aims to achieve a goal which corresponds to the daily needs on a professional and personal level. The student will thus develop useful skills, for example, our students can learn how to order at a restaurant or learn how to write a covering letter for a job search.

In these courses, each student progresses at the same time as his peers under the guidance of a teacher, this is mostly based on a textbook and workbook. The group is an advantage for learning, what our students have learned can in fact be applied immediately in a communicative and social space.

The AFSE has developed for every level a detailed study program (with pragmatic and sociolinguistic objectives), which corresponds to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). In general, a unit lasts ten hours. Each session (a session lasts 4 weeks) provides a coherent program with particular sociolinguistic goals. After the placement test the student learns in a group that corresponds to his level and is part of the overall program A1, A2, B1 or B2 or C1.

The general courses exist in super-intensive (80h per month) or intensive (60h per month) formulas. Our general French courses are offered in 4-week sessions throughout the year. You can therefore choose the period that suits you best as well as the most suitable course formula according to your needs.

With the morning intensive courses, the student works with the other people in his group on general French, both on oral and written skills. He will study the language to use French in all situations of his personal and professional life.

These courses are held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday for a total of 20 hours per week over a session of 4 consecutive weeks.

This schedule is ideal for work in the morning: therefore, you can dedicate the rest of the day for cultural activities or simply the use of French in your professional and personal life. Intensive courses can be complemented by thematic workshops. In addition, the intensity of the course allows for rapid progress over time, as each day the teacher focuses on the reuse of recent knowledge and the addition of new elements through progressive work adapted to the group.

The teacher uses a communicative pedagogy and adapts the pace, content and progression to the needs of the learners. He evaluates them at the beginning of the session and takes note of their objectives, preferences and tastes in order to create a program and a progression.
